Stake Conference & Visit from Dad and Mom Rose!

This was Stake Conference weekend. Can I tell you how much I love Stake Conference? I feel like what we hear there is General Conference brought down to a very personal level. Our Saturday night session was very well attended and people began arriving very early to get good seats. I never remember that happening before. There was such an outpouring of the Spirit. And this morning's session was no different. It was evident that each talk was prepared under the direction of a loving Heavenly Father who had some particular things to say that we needed to hear! Now the key is to do something with the counsel we were given! I am not even going to try to write what we heard because it would lose something in the translation, but I am committed to becoming a better person. And a most wonderful blessing!...a visit from Mom and Dad Rose. Grandpa called earlier in the week to say they were planning on coming if the weather cooperated and Grandma felt all right but not to tell Greg in case they couldn't come. So I kept it to myself like a good little girl! I called Mom Rose yesterday to find out if they still planned to come and the answer was yes! (Wow, that is great motivation to clean and cook really good food! I am sure my husband wishes we could have company every day!) I did not tell Greg until early this morning and he was so happy! They have not been here for several years due to health issues, etc. They arrived this morning just in time to hug Greg and get a good seat in the chapel. Bless their hearts for getting up early and making the effort to be here. Greg spoke on the importance and sacredness of Sacrament Meeting and what is and is not appropriate. He delivered the messages of the brethren on the subject and minced no words. I am thankful that though he may "gore a few bulls" as he puts it, he takes his responsibility seriously enough that he will not let us just drift along, but will help us receive and retain the spirit if we will but take the counsel. His love for the people of this stake is evident as he speaks. I love him so much. Anyway, Mom and Dad and I came home and finished a few last minute dinner preparations while waiting for Greg to come home. We had such a wonderful time visiting together that I completely forgot about taking a picture! Darn! Anyway, it was another great weekend! Thanks again, Mom and Dad Rose, for the wonderful visit!
