Idaho Cattlemen's Convention 2009

Katie, Dana and Greg at their Trade Show Booth

Before the President's Banquet

The convention in Sun Valley was enjoyable again this year. The weather was absolutely gorgeous...no wind and mild temperatures. That is a beautiful area. I had some time to read and relax in our beautiful Lodge room some of Monday afternoon and most of the day on Tuesday as Greg was involved at the trade show. Those rooms have THE BEST BEDS and THE BEST BATHTUBS for soaking ever! Talk about being a lady of leisure!

There was a great speaker on Monday night by the name of Bruce Vincent. He spoke of the need for those of us in agriculture and related industries to combat the radical environmentalists with rationale and education...to define ourselves and not be defined by those who lack understanding...to speak of how we are good stewards and the important part we play in preserving all that is so beautiful about this land and way of life...that we need to realize and correct areas where we may be at fault... educate those around us by being involved and spending a little time each week in spreading the truth... and encouraging common sense in preserving our natural resources. It was excellent!
The trade show went well again this year. Idaho Ag Credit is respected there and people know that the company's employees are long-term and customers will be taken care of in an efficient, respectful, and financially responsible way. The company is picking up a great deal of business from contacts made at this convention. Greg and Katie are familiar faces there now and it is fun to see how much they are loved and respected. What an asset Katie has been to the company. This was Dana's first year there and he really enjoyed it. He is bright and innovative and will be a great asset in years to come. I really love to see Greg in this element. He is good at his job. I'm so grateful I am able to travel with him so much now. It makes me sad to think of the years he traveled alone so much.
