2008 General Relief Society Meeting from Salt Lake

I just have to quickly mention how much I enjoyed the General Relief Society Meeting Saturday night, Sept. 27th. I asked my wonderful new friend, Janet, whom I am training at work, to go with me. She used to be in the 2nd Ward which is part of our stake and I knew there would be many ladies there that she knew. It was wonderful to have her with me and how happy her old friends were to see her and she them! Dad made it back from his business trip to Nevada and from a stop in Park Valley on the way home in time to attend the meeting as well. I LOVE to be with him and miss him so much when he is gone. I picked Janet up and Dad met us there. We were all invited to bring canned goods and lightly used coats from home to donate to SEICA. It was very successful and lots of fun to help box things up for transport to their destination. We visited and enjoyed each other and worked on the project for about an hour and then listened to the broadcast in the chapel. Every talk was inspiring and motivating. I love the whole General Relief Society Presidency! They are each so committed to the gospel and each brings a unique spirit with them. President Uchtdorf's words of encouragement were the perfect ending to a perfect evening! I can't wait to read the talks again. Janet, I know you felt the "fire" of the gospel once again! Thanks so much for going with me. I love you and treasure your friendship!
